Cerritos Memorial Challenge GU12 Gold Finalists
Over Memorial Day weekend SWSC GU12 Elite, coached by Greg Michaels, competed in and became the finalist of the 2006 Cerritos Memorial Challenge GU12 Gold division. This division was made up of 24 of the Nations best teams with 6 brackets. SWSC went undefeated in bracket play tying WCFC (CSL # 5, Celtic Cup Champions, National Cup Champions) with a score of 1-1. SWSC defeated the Eagles (CSL Silver Elite) 4-0 and the Arizona's Scottsdale Blackhawks 3-1. In Quarter Finals they defeated DVSC Black Samba (Cal North's State Cup Champs) 2-1. In Semi Finals they defeated West Valley Samba (CSL Gold #2) in penalty kicks 3-1 after a 2-2 tie. SWSC GU12's only defeat of the weekend was during a rematch against West Coast Football Club.
