BU9 - 2008 Forest Memorial Day Cup Finalist

Arsenal FC (AFC) would like to congratulate the 2008 BU9 AFC-South team for being the finalist in the BU9(B) Division in the 2008 Forest Memorial Day Cup which was held on May 24-26 in San Diego, California. Our second tournament of the new season, this was certainly an event to store in your memory bank. It was discovered on the second day of the tournament that an older team, Crusaders SC (CSC), was mistakenly placed in our age bracket. Despite the turn of events, Coach Cliff Moss encouraged his players to continue to fight and competed with pride. The team started out with a decisive win (8-0) over Heat FC Orange; a loss to CSC (3-0); and a win over Nott’s Forest FC (4-1) to advance to the championship game against CSC. The team was anchored by GK Nicholas Money, who allowed only 4 goals in pool play. Our defense, include Justin Rodriguez, Emilio Rodriguez, and Andrew Casals. Midfielders are Oscar Delgado, Taylor Brown, Matthew Kingston, Casey Chavez and Connor Vilter. Forwards include Cole Shaffer and Alfredo Zuniga.
